Kevin Nelson, President of Nelson AeroDynamiX Corp, www.helicopter4u.com, manages the owner's aircraft and stated "we researched various technologies to enhance the overall situational awareness for our diverse operational profile, and came up with no other single technology that could meet the needs like this Max-Viz EVS-1500". Working cooperatively with Max-Viz and One Sky Aviation, Nelson AeroDynamiX tailored this initial STC installation to meet the owner's discriminating aesthetic requirements, "the installation is just beautiful" states Nelson.
The aircraft owner, Dick DeVos, is a strong proponent of safety and professionalism in his VIP operations. "From Nelson's safety and training component of business services, we knew that the Max-Viz EVS-1500 was the best technology to mitigate the risks and hazards experienced during most of Mr. DeVos' mission profiles. He stepped right up to lead the way in the EC-130 using his personal aircraft as the launch platform for the development of this STC installation for the safety of both his family and passengers," said Nelson. "We feel it is the best and simplest way to avoid disorientation at night, and specifically CFIT and IIMC potential ... which are clearly the highest risk factors in our mission profiles".
The installation on this initial VIP EC-130 aircraft will provide a quantum increase in situational awareness and safety to the owner / operator and will dramatically reduce the stress of remote area operations" states Cary Foster, co-owner of One Sky Aviation www.oneskyaviation.com based in Anchorage, Alaska. "One Sky Aviation did an exceptional job of including the highest standards of switches, and machined fairing installations to ensure this STC sets a higher standard for the quality EVS STC installations", states Bob Yerex, Director of Sales at Max-Viz. "We complete all of our installation initiatives via the STC process to ensure every design factor and process is formally evaluated and reviewed by the FAA" states Yerex, "we currently have over 200 separate aircraft installations covered via STC".
Max-Viz www.max-viz.com designs and markets the smallest, most reliable and affordable Enhanced Vision Systems for aircraft. The systems use real-time infrared sensors, signal processing, and a cockpit displays to provide flight crews with actual thermal images of terrain, runways, taxiways, aircraft and other potential obstacles much better than the naked eye during poor visibility conditions such as light fog, haze, smoke, brown / whiteout, light precipitation and darkness.
Max-Viz EVS turns night into day.
