The EVS-2000 is a dual-sensor system that
uses a patented combination of long wave (8 to 12 microns) tuned
to detect terrain, buildings, obstacles, other aircraft and vehicles
and short wave (1.4 to 1.6 microns) to see high-intensity
lighting associated with oil rigs and helipads. The dual images
are fused in a separate 2MCU fusion processor. Like the EVS-1000,
the EVS2000 can be installed in the upper or lower surface
of the nose. The system may also be mounted in the belly. The fusion
processor is installed in the electronics bay or in another suitable
location. The system requires 28VDC power, and the fused image is
output as RS-170 standard video to the selected display. Installation
can be expected to require one or two days downtime.
