MAX-VIZ ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH FLIGHTCRAFT FOR EVS INSTALLATION ON ALL KING AIR CRAFT
Portland, Oregon (October 6, 2003) Max-Viz, Inc. of Portland, Oregon, announced today an agreement with Flightcraft, a division of The Papé Group, for installation of the EVS-1000 (Enhanced Vision Systems) on King Air aircraft. Flightcraft is currently seeking FAA Supplemental Type Certification for EVS installation on all King Air aircraft with an April 2004 target date.
"We are impressed with the Max-Viz EVS and are excited to offer this to our King Air customers," says Phil Botana, President of Flightcraft. "Flightcraft stays at the forefront of the industry with state-of-the-art technology, tools and training, yet remains flexible enough to adapt quickly to each customer's individual needs. This will be especially true with our offering of EVS."
The Max-Viz uncooled long wave infrared-based EVS allows the pilot to "see" vehicles, equipment, obstacles and other aircraft on ramps, taxiways and runways in degraded visibility conditions including darkness, smoke, haze and smog. The system also detects and displays terrain features during low altitude maneuvering, approach and landing. This technology is gaining recognition in the industry as a key element in the prevention of CFIT and the early detection of runway incursions.
"We are pleased to have the King Air series added to the growing list of Max-Viz EVS certifications," said Gregg Fawkes, Max-Viz President. "King Air operators in our part of the world often fly into austere fields with challenging terrain and visibility problems."
