MAX-VIZ ANNOUNCES FAA CERTIFICATION OF EVS-1000 ON DASSAULT FALCON F-50 CORPORATE JET
Portland, Oregon (September 10, 2003) "How did we ever get along without it?" commented Mr. Larry White, pilot for Mariner Air of Seattle, Washington, after flying the newly certified Max-Viz Enhanced Vision System on the companys Dassault Falcon-50. Max-Viz has received its second FAA certification of the EVS-1000. The STC was issued in Los Angeles, California, on August 11, 2003, for the Mariner Air installation.
These systems generate video-like images of the area in front of an aircraft in flight and on the ground in darkness and poor visibility conditions, such as smoke, smog and haze and are rapidly gaining recognition in the industry as key to the early detection of runway incursions and to the prevention of CFIT. Max-Viz uses uncooled, long-wave infrared-based technology in the development and manufacture of the companys EVS products. The small, lightweight systems are the most affordable EVS available today in the aerospace marketplace.
"I never realized how little we could see at night until the Max-Viz was installed. I think pilots have just gotten used to assuming that the taxiway and runway are clear of obstructions between the lights," said an enthusiastic Larry White. "It is not unusual to encounter taxiways and ramps (at small airstrips) with no lights at all, in which case, Max-Viz is definitely a stand-alone safety enhancement."
